Week Twenty, Day Five

Unsurprisingly, I spent most of today working on my drawing from yesterday. so I pooped this out in like five minutes and it's kind of horrible but nevermind.
yeah I don't know.
novel status: oh yes I made a bit of progress today

16 May 2012

Week Twenty, Day Four

Omg I can't even tell you how madly in love with this I am, and it's not even done. I will definitely update when it is officially ready to go, though.
I'd be pretty mad too if someone punched me in the face and got my blood all over everything

novel status: slowly writing some junk as part of my 750 words

15 May 2012

Week Twenty, Day Three

Why is her hair so big? Because everyone's hair is so big.
Deuteragonist
Novel status: it's still going, but only just

14 May 2012

Week Twenty, Day Two

a 100% accurate drawing of the sunburn that is murdering me today.

novel status: I've written a small amount of actual novel and instead have been working on a randomized list of insanity

13 May 2012

Week Twenty, Day One

Unintentional River Song? Yes please.
hopefully a use of  the colour red that won't murder your eyes, Indiana

Short Novel status: I have written one whole piece of dialogue today.

on an unrelated note, twenty weeks! I feel like this is some kind of milestone! but I'm probably not going to do anything to celebrate. pat myself on the sunburned back.

12 May 2012

Week Nineteen, Day Seven

this is just a bunch of random junk related to my novel that is mostly doodles/brainstorming

novel whatever: now that this is posted I'll go work on it (and by work on it what I really mean is write about three words and then watch psych on netflix)

11 May 2012

Week Nineteen, Day Six

I don't really know what's going on here, but here's a scary silhouette thing.

novel junk: still chugging along. I'm not sure why, but so far writing this novel has been borderline excruciating. I probably just need to do a wordsprint or something.

Week Nineteen, Day Five

oh no I'm late. something something pregnancy. I got distracted by pizza.
novel: yeah buddy! I've definitely been working on it!

09 May 2012

Week Nineteen, Day Four

omg I love this so much.
oh, it's these two losers again. (minus that awful hat)

novel: guess who actually worked on it today?? that's right, me.

08 May 2012

Week Nineteen, Day Three

Today I learned the only thing I hate drawing more than kissing is hats. the end.

novel status: does fanart count??

07 May 2012

Week Nineteen, Day Two

I am taking lifeguard training but we didn't really get a textbook they just printed out like a million pages and the guy was like "oh just hole punch it into a binder" but then.... I was like nope we have to chuck norris this

no comment

short what: idk I will be working on my novel a bit though maybe????

06 May 2012

Week Nineteen Day One

ugh today. All I want to do is watch psych and not think about how my life is a joke.

kay bye.

05 May 2012

Week Eighteen, Day Seven

Tonight, Arms and I met in battle once more. I lost.
but weirdly I don't really have much a problem when it comes to hands

novel whatever: IDK cool stuff will be happening probably

04 May 2012

Week Eighteen, Day Six

some eyes to glare at you
Noel status: just finished Chapter One

03 May 2012

Week Eighteen, Day Five

why is there a foot there? nobody knows.

short story whatever: well, now that finals are done, I have to say... I no longer have any excuse.

02 May 2012

Week Eighteen, Day Four

so many weeeeks

Novel whatever: oh man my last final is tomorrow so I will no longer feel guilty for working on it at that point!

01 May 2012

Week Eighteen, Day Three

I drew some faces while listening to/watching this.

short novel status: fart noise. I'm still mostly worrying about getting my stupid short story ready for my chapbook and it is taking forever and consuming my life

30 April 2012

Week Eighteen, Day Two

ok here is this thing. I have been working on it for a little while but I keep starting over because new.familysearch is a total beazy. Anyway, it's a map of my ancestor's (mostly) birth place (I say mostly because sometimes there's only a deathdate and I use that instead). Basically this is me confirming how ridiculously white I am. colour coded by century and parent. no where near completion at all. I thought I'd wait and post it when it's all done but then I realised it probably won't be all done by the end of 2012.
this.... is probably violating some kind of copyright law... but look at how many english ancestors I have!
short story/novel status: today is one of those slow motion panic attack days.

29 April 2012

Week Eighteen, Day One

Because I was at church for like 13 and a half hours today, you get this piece I call "Horsebutt on an ugly gradient"
short story/novel status: see what I just said about thirteen and a half hours

28 April 2012

badlands?
short story: oh wait

Week Seventeen

here is some junk

27 April 2012

Week Seventeen, Day Six - Horsebutt part 2

YEP THIS HAPPENED. It's Indy's fault. this is what happens when I try to skype and draw.
this is an autumnal forest fire in case you were wondering

short story status: you are a buttcheek

26 April 2012

Week Seventeen, Day Five

My chapbook is officially two thirds done! (too bad the hardest third is still yet to be completed). Hopefully these pictures aren't too blurry, I have the shakiest hands of all time, but only when I'm trying to take a picture of something.

grody pencil lines underneath (I wish I could erase them without it being way obvious)

Short story/Novel Status: that thing you saw bound is my short story for the week, but novel is going nowhere because I pretty much spent all day today doing two things: making Macaroni and cheese (why did it take so long? why did it take so long for me to eat? nobody knows) and working on this chapbook (true story, my printer decided it was too cool for school RIGHT when I needed it most. because of course it would, so that took me ages to sort.)

25 April 2012

Week Seventeen, Day Four - I like big butts and I cannot lie

actually just butts in general.

novel/short story status: poooooomp

24 April 2012

Week seventeen, Day Three

today is a collage of random, but then again, pretty much any day I spend time with Indy is. Today I got all the junk I need for my creative writing chapbook for real this time (thank you Hobby Lobby). I also got to see the finished results of our tie dye! They look positively bubonic! Also we went to Cafe Rio and on the way back I drew on our leftover lids. So there you have it.

this was me experimenting with my new 3 dollar water colours

Novel/Short story status: So novel is meh at the moment because I'm focusing on finishing school, however as a byproduct of that, I am kind of making a short story for creative writing that I'll probably use as a short story for the week

23 April 2012

Week Seventeen, Day Two

So today I was pretty busy for some reason. I went to the brand new Museum of Natural history and drew a dinosaur there, but I wanted them to put it up on the wall and didn't have a way to take a picture of it while I was there and so I have no proof that this actually happened. However, I did a mockup of my final chapbook for creative writing that I'm going to be binding by hand (I still have like a million things to figure out with this, I'll keep you guys posted on how it goes...) to see if the thing I had in my brain would actually work in real life. I am happy to announce it does! Also that bookbinding is super fun and cool. Hopefully these pictures make sense

this one is bound "traditionally" or whatever, with a signature and a cover and it's glued to the back cover that connects the two books
This one is bound with Japanese Four Hole Stab binding. This way of binding doubles each page (hopefully you can see that in the picture) and will probably be easier for me to figure out, printing wise. also the back cover is sewn into the rest of the binding, unlike story two
our two stories as seen right next to each other
the back cover of both of these will be where I put my poem!
bonus grilled cheese from like a week ago

I will definitely do another post when I have the real versions ready to go

Novel status: I came up with some worldbuilding stuff last night, but because I've been so busy, I haven't really done much else with it.

22 April 2012

Week Seventeen, Day One

I decided that Deb can be a Ravenclaw because all the yellow was killing me.
I forgot to colour her lips or eyes. whoops.
short story NOVEL status: yep, I started that last night. I've got 1,249 words so far, most of which I wrote last night. I haven't worked on it much today because of church and having to do creative writing homework (somehow that is unendingly ironic)

21 April 2012

Week Sixteen, Day Seven

I started working on Deb but then Indy and I made tshirts for our race (we're diong a half marathon relay, so basically a 10K each), our team is The Bubonic Plague. We tie dyed the shirts too, but I thought I'd post the drawings I did for them anyway

too lazy to rotate this I guess.

text by Indy, map by me

short story status: not really happening this week I guess? sorry.

20 April 2012

Week Sixteen, Day Six

As a continuation of the Napoleon Dynamite at Hogwarts, we have Pedro. For more information on this insanity, be sure to check out Indy's blog post about this.
Well, you have a sweet broom, and you're really good at hooking up with chicks. Plus you're, like, the only guy at Hogwarts who has a mustache.
short story whatever: IDK it's fine I guess. and by that what I really mean is I'm probably going to start writing my novel tomorrow (ahhhhh)

19 April 2012

Week Sixteen, Day Five

these colours are going to make Indy throw up.
short story status: uhhhhh

18 April 2012

Week Sixteen, Day Four

Thanks to Pottermore, Britney and I realised the amazing potential of if Napoleon Dynamite went to Hogwarts.
short story status: ehhh. Well I updated last weeks story?
Napoleon Dynamite belongs to someone who isn't me. As does Harry Potter

17 April 2012

Week Sixteen, Day Three

an arm that doesn't suck!
short story status: I'm working on that story from last week even as we speak? I'm counting it

16 April 2012

Week Sixteen, Day Two

mouths

short story status: agh I need to work on that one for my creative writing class but heaven forbid I have an attention span.

15 April 2012

Week Sixteen, Day One

wow guess who got way distracted on pottermore and so this is what I have. I'm off to get a wand.

short story status: I get the feeling that I might be starting my novel by the end of this week

14 April 2012

Week Fifteen

ok so this is ~technically~ an excerpt from my NaNo novel from last november, but since I'm changing it around to use it for my creative writing class, I think I can count it for this too.
