Week Seven, Day One

uhhhh yeah I don't know what to tell you about last week. I did do some sundays sketches that I need to post but that's about it. the struggle is real don't judge. Anyway this week I am going to make my theme some wagnerian adaptations I've been thinking about doing lately. Mostly just some concept stuff obvi, but whatever. I mostly want to take The Ring Cycle and The Flying Dutchmen and make them maybe a little bit more palatable to modern/my personal feminist preferences. Anyway. alright so last semester in my figure drawing class we had weekly sketchbook homework and theoretically I was going to redo all the assignments this semester but that hassss not really happened so I think for my 52366 this week I'm going to do some of  those. so I mean at least I'll have a couple more drawings for that done, right??? well here's a master's study of RT Barrett, the head of illustration here at BYU. hopefully I will do more than one drawing a day but we'll see.

Week Five, Day Seven

wooooooooo. survived another week. Since it was testimony mtg I drew the facs of a few of the ppl who bore their testimonies until I got tired of messing up everyone's faces (it is really hard to gesture draw a moving face for however long it takes them to bear their testimony) so I drew some robots for the last of this week's theme. I don't know why but this week's theme was weirdly difficult for me. Maybe I need more creativity I do not know

ok this one is a goodie today. Has anyone else played freaking Jump Start 3rd Grade because seriously THE BEST. It... just I loved it ok. SUCH A GOOD. someday I'm going to find the install disks at my parents house and bring that back. Anyway, I drew Botley for my robot of today.

Week Three, Day One

oh buddy this one is more complete but there are some SERIOUSLY PROPORTION ISSUES and I spent like three seconds on the hands and feet but you know what I was at school for 12 hours today and am ready to sleep forever

alright so I realized if I do only themes based on other things this site will just be a year of fanart, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but that's just not the only thing I want to do with this. SO. Because I so very badly want to get into this animation program, I think that it would not be a bad idea to devote a week (or more lol lbr) to getting my portfolio ready. One of those is that I forgot my flash drive at home and the computers with the animation software don't have internet for some.. reason. whatever it's stupid. Week One Day Two - Mumen Rider

today must have been one of those days when I learned a lot because everything was a struggle. EVERYTHING. all the art. I did a lot of drawing that had nothing to do with today's drawing and THE STURGGLE WAS URGLE.

Anyway I feel bad that I bombed this one so badly because I decided for part of One Punch Week to draw Mumen Rider (Licenseless Rider in the Manga) and I love him so much he is such a nice character and so GRATE OVER ALL.

I'm still working on getting a hang of Paint Tool Sai, I really like their little stabilizer thing because my lines are so shaky with my tablet (ugh, maybe because it is so tiny and old?). But the more I use it the more I like drawing with it more than photoshop. Well anyway I drew this garbage and then slapped some colors on in photshop, it is what it is :pppppppppppppp

Week One, Day One - Tatsumaki!

yo yo yo yo yo so I decided with my blog being called 52 stories... 366 whatever something, that each week I will have a theme (I've probably stated this elsewhere) because I am very much not about that short story life slash suck at making myself write every month but november ANYWAY. This week, the first week, I've decided to do One Punch Man, my favourite anime/manga/webcomic super combo of probably all time (...at the moment anyway heh). OK ANYWAY I STARTED OUT WITH TATSUMAKI BECAUSE SHE IS ME IF I HAD out of control psychic powers. she's the best, maybe I just really identify with her napoleon complex/always being mistake for being much younger than I am. Alright enough words more art up in here already

Week 0 Day 2

ooookkkaaayyyy so today's is a little bit not legit because I did it in tvpaint and I only have a demo of that that can't save or export ://////  but I did a little animation (if you want to see what I did come talk to me because I did take a video of it on snapchat haha). But to make up for that here's a sketch I worked on today in Paint Tool Sai which I'm thinking about getting (hooray free trials!) because I've decided that photoshop is no fun to draw in :///// ok here you go

TL;DR ABOUT INFORMATION: I do a drawing everyday that I feel is presentable (more than a doodle, somewhere between a sketch and a completed piece).

Alright so this year for the 52 weeks thing (because last times whole "write a short story every week" DID NOT HAPPEN AT ALL) what I want to do is have a theme or a story or an idea each week that I work off of to do my drawings for this site. I might not do it every week, but that's the goal at least. In this post I'm going to put all the ideas I have for possible weeks! This will be updated as a I think of stuff (or maybe as people give me suggestions?).

Week 0 Day 1

woop!!!! Let's do this thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 ok calm down. Anyway, because friday is a weird day to start weeks I'm just going to call this week 0 until next monday. Because the last time I did this I started out with a self portrait, I figured I should keep with that tradition!! But I realized pretty much all the self portraits I've ever done ever were REALLY BLAND with NO EXPRESSION that they were really boring and terrible, so I decided to be terrible in different ways by slapping this out. I've been collecting a bunch of snapchats of wild faces I've made and decided that would be a good source for actually interesting self portraits. Please enjoy my 100% accurate nasty snowboarding hair.

Winter Break Homework!

ok so I haven't put anything out on this blog officially yet, but since it's another leap year coming up I'm going to reboot this project! My thoughts are that instead of just any drawing sufficing, I will do a finished/semi-finished piece every day. Basically, the idea came from Inktober which I did for the first time this last October and it helped me a lot and was a super good motivation to work on personal art and not just homework art and I was like I need to do this all the time!! So I am going to do that for this site for the year of 2016! You will be very astounded to see how much my art and work ethic have improved in the last four years. But, as a way to kind of gear up for this, and also to hopefully not lose all my skills of an artist over the winter break, here is my self assigned winter break homework!!!!:

100 hands
100 feet
50 faces
Read and copy every drawing from Ken Hultgren’s The Art of Animal Drawing
25 knees
25 shoulders
25 arms 
10 elbows independent of arms
100 perspective drawings (this could be something as simple as a box or as complicated as a cityscape)
30 sketchbook pages

I posted this on my trash tumblr as well. I'm going to update as I complete this and also as I think of possible other assignments for me to do! Hold me accountable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's the whole point of this blog! holding myself accountable! ok I'm doing some math and this is how much of each thing I'll have to do on average per day over the break (not counting sundays it's 20 days)

16 DEC EDIT: I decided to reduce the number of elbows because I've been drawing a lot of elbows with my arm drawings so that changes my numbers a little bit.
